Have spouse helping to find the file (I'm really bad at this)

All you pray-ers out there, this little guy's having problems and he needs a few - they put him in neonatal ICU because he can't keep his body temp up and his muscle tone isn't what it should be. His APGAR's were great; he got worse in the first couple days.

Jane - I'm going to rehab 3 times a week at 5:00 p.m. Thought it'd be rough, but you know I feel great when I'm done. I did my Phase II rehab early in the morning and liked it a lot; but I guess I don't get going so early, because I increase resistance and upped my settings on all of the equipment this first week and haven't felt any strain. Hope you are still enjoying work.

Georgia he is beautiful and I'm sure things will start looking up for him soon. I'll certainly keep him in my prayers.

I resized the picture and reposted it so that those on dial up connections don't have to wait so long for the pic to download.
If you really want the large pic back up, I can do that. Just let me know. ;)

Georgia - great thing to be - Grandmother. I like the sound of it, don't you? He is a lovely child and he is going to be fine, just keep the faith, love him as much as you can, hold him often and keep your warmth joining his. Congratulations, Granny.

He is precious!

He is precious!

Of course he will be in my prayers!
He will be fine!! My nephew did that to us also and he bounced back in couple of days.

I will be looking forward to more pictures when I return from the hospital.

Glad to hear rehab is doing so well. Keep us up to date on you and the little one. My grandson spent a little time in ICU too while he got aclimated to this world. He will be three the last of June and he is a joyous shining star in my life. After he got going he was absolutely fine..............Betty

Thanks, everyone

Thanks, everyone

You know, this whole working thing is seriously interfering with my vr.com time. I got my last disability check today - a nice surprise, because I thought I got the last one last week.

My daughter went home today and they get Quinn home tomorrow. He's doing better. A couple of the nurses, and I, think someone had her counting mixed up - we're just sure he's more premature than everyone says. My daughter's pretty ocd and thinks she can't possibly be wrong. I've been around long enough to have seen LOTS of people fooled. I can't imagine what she'd have done back in the "old days" when we didn't find out we were preggie until 2 or 3 months in.

Am still really enjoying cardiac rehab. I'm quite amazed how fast I've improved on all of the machines and exercises.

See my cardio again tomorrow; still have that problem with the too-fast heart rate. Still goes over 100 at rest. Doc doesn't like that. We'll see what she says tomorrow.

Once again, I sure appreciate all of the support and good wishes.

Great news about Quinn!

Great news about Quinn!

Hi Georgia,

I'm glad you and Quinn are progressing so well! I hope your visit with your cardio goes well and your heart rate gets back in the range you are targeting.

Remember you have had alot going on that may be influencing it. Are you totally off caffeine? I am a home but every once in a while I get a cup of the real stuff from the community pot at work and I can tell a difference in my heart rate and rhythm. Is work becoming more routine again yet? Hope you are well today..........................Betty

A wonderful day today

A wonderful day today

Quinn went home, much to his 3-year-old brother's regret, and everyone else's relief. Brother Jack told my daughter that SHE could go home but to leave "that baby" in the hospital.

Daughter's much better & less weepy (of course). And all tests including brain scan came back good. Guess he's a sleepy boy who gets cold.

I went to cardio and heart rate was 80!!! First time since surgery that it's been below 95. She thinks it's starting to decrease and will stay down longer each day. We'll see - I'm optimistic.

And I'm bad - I feel life's too short to give up caffeine. I had a cappucino about half an hour before seeing the doc. And still had MUCH lower heartrate.

And doc agrees I shouldn't be working overtime, so I may have to do battle with my boss if she thinks she needs to compensate for understaffing with overtime. I'm not too concerned - I plan to retire next May due to nasty environment, so I don't care about performance reviews, etc. I've gotten pretty focused on what's important. Grandkids, family in general, health.

An' that's what I sez! :p

Please stick by your guns in not doing overtime. You have been through such a lot and shouldn't jeopardize your health just because your company has not seen fit to employ enough people. Nothing is worth paying for with your health. Been there done that, myself!!

I have finished with the formal rehab, but my doctor is going to order me some exercise on prescription. We then just pay about 15 uk pounds for about 12 sessions. After that I will use the gym myself, go swimming, walking and go back to Yoga. Does anyone know if it is OK to do inverted postures (eg headstands) after vr??

Feeling pretty good now, especially when I keep the stress down.

I too had a fast heartbeat after surgery, but it has settled down to about 85 now, which I can live with. I still get the extreme pulsation in the neck, from the dodgy tricuspid valve, when I am tired, or have lifted something heavy, but I can lessen this by resting and relaxing for a while. Also by slowing my breathing down.

Glad to hear that Quinn is doing fine and is home.

Headstands, downside ups after VR surgery::

Headstands, downside ups after VR surgery::

You can do them, but using an Inverter is the way to do it because you can do it gradually, as much or as little as you like. Great for the back too, hanging downside up. If you have any edema in the ankles it's best to avoid the use of the Inverter because the clamp too hold you in tightly crosses them.

High Blood pressure is very important consideration in avoiding upsidedownedness.

4/00 - replacement with bovine Pericardial aortic valve; CCF: Cosgrove.
12/03 Repeat AVR with St. Jude conduit and aortic valve, dual lead Pacemaker, due to misdiagnosis of subacute endocarditis; UPMC, Pelligrini.

Thanks, Gary. I am lucky that I have never had high blood pressure. So I guess I will just proceed with caution.
