Morning or Night? I take mine at night but would like to switch to morning(easier to remember.

I take mine after lunch. Not sure why I got on that schedule (or when) but it has been for a long time.

After I eat....

After I eat....

I take mine after I have something to eat.... more like 'brunch'. :)

I'm not a breakfast eater, but I do usually eat an early lunch and follow with a hand full of meds for desert.

"Bobby, take your pills."

"Bobby, take your pills."

My mothers voice is still in my ears from the third grade when I started taking
meds for RF. Every morning with breakfast I heard those words. Every morning I take meds with breakfast, except for surgery, I have done this for over 50 years. I've been a good boy, momma.:D

I take it as soon as I wake up and start making coffee. If I don't, the day gets busy and I forget.

I take mine at bedtime. All of my meds are once a day (thank goodness), and bedtime for me is the easiest time to remember them. The only problem with this is that I take two different diuretics, so I'm up and down all night going "potty", but I prefer this to having to find a restroom every 20 minutes if I'm out running around during the day. I can find my way to the bathroom at night practically without waking up!:D LINDA

I started out taking my warfarin at night. I switched to breakfast, because if I forgot due to an altered schedule (vacation, weekend, etc.), I'd be more apt to remember sooner and take it within a couple of hours.

Morning at breakfast table. Test about every two weeks Saturday PM. If dose change needed I set it up for the next two weeks in my daily pill box which starts on Sunday.

When I was first started on Coumadin, I took it at night so that I could change the dose quicker after coming back from the Coumadin clinic. Now that I home test, it really doesn't matter, but I still take it in the evenings. Old habits die hard.

I was taking it in the morning, but mornings here are so hectic that often I was out of the house by the time I remembered. So I switched to evenings. I try to take it at dinner time, but often it gets done right before bedtime. There's just more hours to get to it between the evening meal and bedtime, vs waking up and getting going for the day. I haven't missed a day yet in over a year! For me that's pretty good :D

Coumadin Taken

I take my Coumadin at night as it's easier to remember. Does anyone know the long term affects of taking coumadin? I've taken it since 1999. I wonder how long is too long?

Well.......yeah, the most important long term effect is "Life"! 1999, heck I got pill bottles older then that.:D As far as too long, it is the same as anything- It is too long when you no longer need it.

Don't get to complacent there Jeff. I said the same thing about replacing my gas cap after filling the car. Guess who lost his first gas cap the other night?
