Ruthie...... May I suggest you not risk driving without doctor's clearance. If you should have an accident, your insurance could refuse to cover. I'm sure you don't need my silly advice but just thought I'd mention it.

good question!

good question!

I was curious about this myself. For my first OHS, I was told to wait until 6 weeks. Now for my second, (both at Mayo) I was told to go ahead and drive at 4 weeks. I said I was told six last time, and the nurse told me they say 6 knowing people cheat and do it earlier. Then she told me 4 weeks, no cheating. :) I am getting really excited for that time to come- pretty soon!
Good luck, you good patient you!

I called both the surgeon and cardiologist yesterday and they both are out of the office for the next week.....so, unless, I want to just DO IT and drive, guess I'm stuck until the 9th (next appt). My husband says he's happy to drive me........drats!

Hey...let him chauffer you around a while yet ;).

But, yes, I drove at 6 weeks.

*grins*

Actually...My surgery was Jan 6, 2003. My surgeon cleared me to drive again on Feb 10, 2003. So, I did. 12:01 AM...yes right after midnight! He he he
