Ruthie...... May I suggest you not risk driving without doctor's clearance. If you should have an accident, your insurance could refuse to cover. I'm sure you don't need my silly advice but just thought I'd mention it.

I was curious about this myself. For my first OHS, I was told to wait until 6 weeks. Now for my second, (both at Mayo) I was told to go ahead and drive at 4 weeks. I said I was told six last time, and the nurse told me they say 6 knowing people cheat and do it earlier. Then she told me 4 weeks, no cheating.
I am getting really excited for that time to come- pretty soon!

Actually...My surgery was Jan 6, 2003. My surgeon cleared me to drive again on Feb 10, 2003. So, I did. 12:01 AM...yes right after midnight! He he he
