Hi Everyone - I just want to thank you for being so kind and supportive to my two daughters who have posted on the site. You have given so many good suggestions and so much first hand experience advice and so much support, it seems a mere thanks is hardly enough to say. Liza told me about this site a couple of weeks ago and I read through the posts often, many times getting teary-eyed because a group of strangers who have "been there, done that..." are so willing to pass on their first hand experiences, prayers, and good wishes. I personally will be very happy when the surgery is over and she is on the road to recovery. I am not sure if she realizes how stressful this is on the rest of us but, fortunately, we all realize that it is even more stressful for her! We are all here for her and with the help of your support and suggestions, we have a much better idea of just what to expect and ways to help that we would probably have never thought of. So - to everyone - thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

It makes a huge difference to have such a supporting family. I wish my Mom were around to be with me (yes, at 47 I still want my Mommy! LOL) but I know she and my dad will be looking over Dr Lyt'e's shoulder and holding my hand while I'm in the hospital.
We'll all be thinking about and praying for Liza on her big day.

Thanks and we'll be thinking and praying for you, too, as well as for your surgical team that they have clear minds and steady hands! You never walk alone

Just be there for her. Be sure to ask the cardiologist some questions as well as the surgeon. Look on web sites and here for information. For the information is the key to knowledge. Tell her that we will keep her in our prayers. And welcome to the best place in the whole world.

Where is the location of the surgery. We have had experience with many of the Ohio locations. Let us know the details!!!

God Bless!

Another pair of Good Buckeyes!

I think Liza's surgery is at the Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus.

We (meaning those that are going through or have finished our first--or more--challenges) have a tendency to forget our loved ones are facing just about as much stress (if not more) as we are. We get to sleep through the hard part :D :D . They have to spend their time on that uncomfortable chair in the waiting room, wondering what is going on behind those closed doors. I told my wife that I guess this was our first test of our wedding vows "In sickness or in health". Hope her turn to test those vows doesn't come for a long, long time. She sure held up her part of the bargain.

Wishing you all good luck and prayers and good thoughts are coming your way (for all of you).

May God Bless,

Danny

I certainly agree with Danny about the stress being hard on family members and friends. Do not forget to take time to care for yourselves. Get the proper rest, diet and down time. My wife came down with strep throat after we came home from the hospital. She was with me during most of my 16 day hospital stay.
