Happy Thanksgiving!!

I am thankful that dinner is over! I'm tired!!! It's about the 25th annual dinner I have cooked for my family and various extended family. I'm one of those stupid cooks who shoos people out of the kitchen for most of the prep. I'm in a brand new kitchen this year and it's very small, very, compared to what I'm used to. No wall ovens and leaning over to pull out the turkey to baste every 20 minutes....... cleaning up as I go since there's no counter space... whine, whine..... :rolleyes2: (I'd get up and do it again tomorrow, no hesitation! My family loves it.) Sometimes we are just us 5, sometimes grandparents, sometimes in-laws from out of state. Always it is wonderful, harmonious, laughter-filled and memorable.

I guess the thing I realized this year as I'm approaching my 5th "valversary" in April is how dam*ed thankful I am to be here!!! I often think, oh, they'll all get along without me one day, life is precious but I've had such a good one -- I'm ready if something twists my fate. But for some reason, this holiday is different. My two sons (late 20's) are in their first good relationships with beautiful and bright women. My daughter has suddenly grown into a fantastic young woman. And I'm here, I'm actually here -- in one glorious piece -- living and breathing beside them. Nothing beats that for me!

So while I am of course thankful for all the amazing people whom I cherish and call my family (including my VR.org family) I think, this year, I'm really going to just relish in my, me, I, this person, this woman -- she is HERE!! For whatever reason I was given this extra time on this planet -- I am forever thankful.

What A I Thankful For.....
My husband, who with all his little faults still loves me (even if I'm gumpy) and has stood by my side for almost 35 years.
Our daughter who has grown into the most amazing young woman and the great man she chose to be her husband.
Our son who sarcastic like me has fallen in love and married a wonderful woman and they are starting on a wonderful jouney together.
For the new outlook on life this cow valve has given me. I no longer am the in a hurry person I used to be (so all you silly people who drive 45mph in the fast lane, you have nothing to worry about)
The everyone who has passed thorough or will pass through my life. You each have given or will give me something to make me a richer person.
To everyone in this VR family, you all have given me a sense of peace that no matter if my valve has a hiccup today or in a million days, you will be here to give me confidence.
I am thankful every single day that I can wake up and see the daisies from the flower side rather than the roots.
