I am a granny as of a week ago sunday. Landon was born weighing 7lb 14.5 oz and 20" long. He is beautiful. I saw him for the first time on monday. I cooked a chicken pot pie and went to visit today. I was able to hold him for about an hour this evening. They live about an hour from me. Spending more time with my step-kids is very emotional. I married there father when they were 6,9,12. He passed away 11 years ago when they were 8, 11, 14. Because it is 11 years since there father passed away, I do very well the majority of the time. Being with his children more makes me think of him so much more than usual. I love seeing them, but it also makes me kind of sad. I have always stayed in contact with them and hope that will continue.

I then worked monday through sunday. This is suppose to be our slow season, but things have not slowed down much at all.

Yesterday I found out the a friend of mine's 25 year old daughter is awaiting MRI results. We are thinking that it is probably coarctation of the aorta. I care so much for her daughter. She has already been through getting her gallbladder removed in July and her appendix removed in August. She also has asthma, bladder problems and reproductive system problems. Every time she tries to get her live in order, they diagnose her with more medical problems. But, if she does end up with coarctation, it would explain her BP, headaches and fatigue.

My kitchen is trashed from cooking, but that is going to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. I am going to bed.

Congratulations once again on Landon's birth.:) It is a wonderful feeling, like no other, but sometimes bittersweet.
You have had many things to occupy your mind and time this week; rest up and please keep us posted on your friend's daughter.

Congratulations on becoming a granny- it's the best and very nice that you have remained close to them all. Rest up and enjoy!

Congratulations on becoming a Granny! Best wishes to Landon for a good life and good health. I'm glad you were able to keep up the relationship with your step-kids. You hear much too often about that not being the case.

Congratulations on becoming a Granny. I love being a "Mimi" and having grandkids so very much. I can see how it would be bittersweet for you and am glad you are still in the lives of his children. My husband's mother died of Hodgekin's disease when he was still a pre-teen. His dad remarried a widow with three children. As the years passed everyone grew apart and now it sadly has become two separate families again. My children never ever looked at my mother-in-law as a "step grandmother". She was always just simply their grandma. I hope you have many years of enjoyment with your new grandchild.
