Greetings everyone! I got a call from the hospital this morning. Boy did they take me off that waiting list in a hurry! My hospitalization will start next Tuesday October 9th. I'm not exactly sure when the operation will be, but I'm guessing either the 15th or 16th. Here in Japan it's normal to hospitalize the patient about a week before the operation, so I guess I'll have plenty of time to study Japanese, read a few books, and try to calm the nerves. I'm not sure if I'll be able to post from the hospital, so if someone could PM me, then I could e-mail you from my cell phone. See you on the other side of the mountain!
Thanks to all for the kind words of encouragement.

Hi Wes!
That was a quick wait!
I will send you my email address via a PM.
If you will let me know the surgery date, I will get it posted on our surgery calendar.
Best wishes and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

th4ey don't mess around over there, do they?? We will count on Mary to keep us posted. She will maybe send our threads back to you so you can hear from all of us. Blessins.........

wow, thanks for the quick replies. Because of the time difference, I always feel like I'm posting while everyone else is sleeping!

You will soon be on the other side of the mountain, Wes and I am so glad you let us know and that in this wonderful day of technology, we will be able to keep tabs on you. Godspeed!

Wow, that was quick! I'll be thinking of you and wish you the very best.

Wes,

Best wishes for a good hospital stay, successful surgery, and uneventful recovery. It would be interesting to know what they do with you in the hospital for one whole week before surgery.

Wes, will you have any friends or family there with you during the surgery and recovery? Hoping all goes well for you. Take care and post again.

A week before!!! I think I'd go mad!!! I was hospitalized the afternoon before and that was fine, but one week. I can't imagine what they do. Anyhow, it's great you have a hospital date!

Wes was able to email me using his cell phone . . . as he said in the email, technology is marvelous! So we should be good to go once he enters the hospital, and I will update as I receive news from him.:)

Wes,

GOOD LUCK!

Thoughts/prayers coming your way for a SUCCESSFUL surgery :).

Wes has said it all.
Since your in there a week, may I suggest that you learn some Japanese medical terms, if there's a big language problem
Good luck, best wishes, and try to relax.

Goodluck Wes, will be thinking of you, best wishes and a speedy recovery

I had an email from Wes this morning.
He was having chest pain, so was headed to the hospital.
Surgery might be sooner rather than later . . . . he will let me know when he can.

And here's the update . . . Wes was admitted to the hospital, the pain is nothing to be concerned about, but they have set his surgery for the 11th, and he will remain in the hospital until that time. Yuck!
His parents are flying in from Virginia, so that's the good news!
I've put him on the calendar, and we'll have a presurgery thread started on Monday to wish him well.:)
