Weird surgery question

I have been wondering about this and it may seem like a weird question so here goes:

When your in the operating room and they do surgery on you,is the gown that you were wearing the same one that is on when you wake up or is it different gown?

I have to say that I have no idea what I woke up in. It was not high on my list of concerns when I woke in intensive care

Are you worried it might be bloody? I don't imagine they would leave you on it if so but like the previous poster I wasn't thinking about it. I honestly don't remember the first day or so that well.

I'm not worried about it being bloody,was just curious that's all.
I remember they asked me to take my eyeglasses before I was sedated.
I was sedated for six days,woke up very excited to be alive on Mothers Day

I dont know that I even had a gown on when I was put under. I think I was just covered up with sheets after they shaved me from neck to ankles, surgeon came to talk to me said I was getting some bonus work done while they replaced the valve, as soon as he was done they began doping me.

The fact that I was wearing paper undies when I went in and came out sans underwear with a catheter and painted all over in chlorhexidine leads me to suspect that there was a costume change. I highly doubt they would recycle the gown because there would be nowhere in theatre to keep it aside if that makes sense?

I guess I didn't really care. After 7 years in the military (back in the 1970's), I've been seen in all manner of dress/undress by unknown hundreds of people. I'm not a nudist, but in a medical situation I have no modesty. I went in with a gown and came out with one. Was it the same one? Only The Shadow Knows!

Bonus work was going in for a valve job and finding out before I was being put under that I would also get an aortic aneurysm fixed with a graft plus an atrial appendage clip for good luck.

Circumcision was done longer ago than I can remember.

One of the surgeons I consulted had suggested the atrial appendage clip. Though some insurers won't pay for it. I understand it's pretty new and not yet highly researched.
