So, I emailed the CT surgeon giving me the restriction, and I'll copy/paste his response for you all to see. It does sound a little better with this allowance, that I am pretty sure he didn't give me the first time around, but I think he also realizes what an obstacle the restriction would be to my job:::

possibly greater rate of aortic enlargement, however it can be incresed to
Max of 40 lbs in each hand for very short time"
