What are my Yankee friends getting in weather tonight? The wind is blowing hard here in North Georgia. When I was coming home from pool a few hours ago, a large pine tree fell in Horse Pasture..   Weather station saying a strong front coming thru from up North.. Temps are suppose to fall by tomorrow. Heard it was going all the way to Fla. Bonnie

Cold, Rain, Wind, YUCK! It's supposed to go down to 45 tonight. Heck it's almost there now!

61 and raining here, supposed to have some thunder tonight.

Weather better not get cold. I planted some elephant ears and cannas, and they need warm soil. If I can't get to warm places, I can pretend by looking at my tropical plants.

Just this time.......

Just this time.......

......I can brag about the weather in Northern Ireland.

Y'all know that it's not in my nature to BRAG, but yesterday (Friday) was 26.5 degrees celsius which I think is about 73F. Today was 21C - 70F but a little overcast at times.

Normally April showers bring forth May flowers in these parts but April was nice and then May went completely bad.......it rained every hour most days. Forecast here is for more fine weather, so maybe we'll have an opportunity to top up our tans in June.

So, Ross and Bonnie, jump on a plane and get over here, I have a couple of spare beds. Lemme know when to meet y'all at the airport.

Cold and windy here in Michigan tonite.
We had a lot of rain overnight.
Temps in the mid-thirties tonite with possible FROST in the suburbs like where we are.
Unbeleivable!!:( :(

Hey Nancy.......

Hey Nancy.......

Your post came in when I was writing mine so didn't see it till now.

You're welcome to come with the others.......dunno about the Elephant ears though - small country here, not a lotta spare space.

Bring Joe too, or how about a photograph for starters. I'd love to see a pic of Joe and I'm sure many others would too. He's one lucky Gentleman having you to take care of him.

Got a camera handy?

The weather report

The weather report

Well, Miss Bon, I thought I'd give you our latest weather report.....in one word, YUCKO!!! It's presently blowing and light raining here in eastern long Island---with the promise of more of the same to come. Not too nice a day, especially one to go grocery shopping----actually, in my opinion, that's worse than the weather. It won't be the right day to plant my imatiens.....grrrr.

Be well and stay dry.

Evelyn

You're right Bily- I have to get a pic of Joe on site. I will soon. Problem has been, he's been so much under the weather, he just hasn't looked like himself, but things are improving.

Love to come to "the Olde Sod", especially with the sunshine. Both of us have Irish roots, so we'd feel right at home there, I'm sure.

Hey, I traded seeds with a fellow from Ireland a couple of years ago, and those primroses are just blooming this year, They're really pretty. A touch of Ireland right in my own backyard.

We had bad weather Friday night. The sky looked treacherous! We got a tremendous downpour, with high winds and hail! There were tornado warnings all around us. Joliet, IL ended up getting hit! THe temperature dropped and Saturday the winds were howling.

I went out about 10:30am on Saturday, to buy my annuals for my garden and just about froze my butt off! It had finally stopped raining. I heard the weather, saying it was going to get into the mid 30's Saturday night, so I didn't end up planting my annuals! Today its suppose to be 68 and sunny with diminishing winds, so hopfully I can plant them today and they'll be okay!

By the end of May, we should be able to plant our flowers without fear of frost! BRRR!:(

Hey, Billy! I'm coming over too! :D :D

Hey Lorraine -- I overnighted in your 'Windy City' Thursday night and saw on CNN where the temp in San Antonio was going to hit 100 warm degrees upon arrival so I put my shorts on and waited for the shuttle early Friday morning with goose bumps all over these leggies!

Kinda glad I didn't know anything about the tornadoes...and glad I had an early flight.

And Billy -- what's this about 26.5C in Ireland.. I'd have to see that to believe it!

So we're all coming..Ross, Lorraine, Bill, Nancy, Joe, Evelyn, Rich, Ann and Granbonny! and...I just invited myself...:D

Interesting, huh?

Interesting, huh?

Last time Bonnie started a thread about the weather it had a bunch of posts.....nearly 50 if I remember, and in most cases y'all had snow (Except for someone from the deep south).

Now, four months later approaching summer, the temperatures must be higher and the weather better but this thread has kinda died...........

......Which all goes to prove that the well known theory in the rest of the world that Americans like to brag is really untrue.

Y'all are just like the Irish, you prefer to complain.

Well, there's the odd exception to every rule...Hahahaha

Billy - bet you have heard this one before;

Weather pleases nobody.

In NW Fl, weather is beautiful BUT

It is dry, we need rain, too hot at 3p.m., humidity is too heavy - ad nauseum

teehee:D

Rain

Rain

It has been raining here forever. I think for most of the past two weeks all we have been getting is rain!!

Sunday we had downpours all day which made it a good day to sit by the TV and veg all day. Hubby's band played Fri and Sat night and I probably had all of 8 hours sleep between the two nights. I don't know how my husb managed to work yesterday. I could barely manage getting dinner on the table!

Well, at least the sun is shining and we are finally getting warmer weather. I think it is going to be in the 70's this week (with rain again on Wednesday).
