Little did I know when I left town ten days ago that I would acquire not only a new niece (expected) but also a new daughter-in-law (unexpected) before our trip was over!:p
Some of you may remember my sister Annie's last pregnancy. Two years ago, it was touch and go for both Annie and the baby. This time, she delivered a healthy 6 lb.3oz. baby girl right on schedule. Mallory Elizabeth is all ready twice the size her older sister Maddie was at six months. :)

And we collected a lovely daughter-in-law :) after our son Mark took a job as Director of student activities and housing at his alma mater, Central Methodist University. The job comes with an apartment, free utilities, free meal plan, and free tuition to immediate family members. Mark's taken all the classes he will ever need to take, but since Amanda, his girlfriend, hadn't, he thought they should get married and take advantage of a great opportunity. So with Fall semester about to start, he did!:p
We left home on a Saturday, received a call on the road that they were going to get married, and exactly a week later they tied the knot! I was a little perturbed that we missed the wedding, but we'll hold a reception for them next month when hopefully our son will be home on leave from Iraq.
Anyway, that's what happened on MY SUMMER VACATION!:p :p

All good things in a week, Mary- you should go away more often!;)

Mary:

WOW!!! I thought you were about to say that a "free wife" came with your son's job deal.... :D :D

But it sure makes sense to go ahead and tie the knot.

Where is Central Methodist University? Our goddaughter graduated from Texas Wesleyan U. in December, called TWU (also called Teeny Weeny University ;) ). TWU's in Fort Worth.

Marsha,
CMU is in Fayette, Missouri. It's about 30 miles from Columbia (home of University of Missouri) so it tends to get overlooked!

kids are gonna do what kids are gonna do. You will make up for missing the wedding by having a lovely reception for them soon.

Congratulations on both counts. Blessins.......

Congratulations Mary!!!!
