If the truth be known, growing up in Peoria you probably had no idea there was any part of the state south of Springfield! LOL!

You are so right Mary! :) However, I still miss the state even after living in Florida for almost 31 years. I may have lost my yankee accent, but I have definiitely not lost my yankee blood. There is still no way anyone can get me to eat gritts.

LOL about the grits. I'm still part Yankee-man deep inside, but I have had grits. However, I eat them like a Yankee would, if a Yankee ate grits. I add milk, butter and sugar (Splenda in this case); they're really pretty good that way. That's same way I like to eat my rice; I never had rice as a side dish until after I turned eighteen.

I'm in complete agreement-- grits and rice with butter, sugar and milk!
