Amiodarone will boost your INR.

Just try to be consistent in intake, actvities, spread out over a week, for example. You don't have to do something or eat the same thing every single day. Just don't start something for a week or two, then have to adjust your INR to it and then suddenly stop without realizing that you will need another adjustment. For example, if you go on a low-fat diet, you may see an increase in your INR because you've reduced the amount of fats you consume. There is vitamin K in fats and oils. Therefore, the amount of warfarin that's been keeping you in range for a while may be too much and you'll need an adjustment. But it's no big deal.

Just eat what you want.

There's a learning curve when you start taking warfarin, lots of information to take in. But it all comes together and starts making sense after a while. It did with me, and I'm sure many others here.

BTW, thought of this thread while at the grocery store on the way home today and got 2 pints of Blue Bell Buttered Pecan. MMMMMMMMMMMMM!

One more thing - my docs at the Mayo were actually pretty laid back about it all. They advised not to change much beyond being consistent with my diet. They even have someone who has spinach every day - they just dosed for the diet. It's my own reaction to all of the crap online trying to find answers that led me to these questions. Like I just told Ross - I'm so glad I found this forum! While you aren't necessarily docs, you ARE experienced with this drug and how it can effect your INR, and that's invaluable.

Funny! I had to pick up my Warfarin and picked up Blue Bell Nutty Chocolate while I was at it!

She made me hungry, so I went and had a can of spinich. Don't tell Dr. Gourmet! :p

You are just weird! Now if you're talking Stouffer's Spinach Souffle or Boston Market's Creamed Spinach, I could eat that all night. In fact last night for dinner I had Chili's Spinach & Artichoke Dip for dinner! But not canned spinach. Yuck! Popeye and I are not on the same wavelength! You, on the other hand, probably think Olive Oyl is hot!

Don't you ice cream eaters ever eat Baskin Robbins German Chocolate Cake. My number 1 favorite for about the last 25 years....too bad it is seasonal. Used to live close to a Baskin Robbins and the owner would start dipping the German Choc. as soon as he saw my car driving up. Delicious, without compare.

But recently it seems I saw the Blue Bell name in some market circular so will have to try to find out if they really have it out here.

Midge

Thanks for ruining my night....no ice cream in the freezer and too late to go out. Ice cream is one of God's gift to the masses!

real ice cream

real ice cream

.
real ice cream made from cows milk does not screw around with your inr.

from my own experience, soy sauce as part of a chinese or korean dish does not screw around with your inr

but, i concentrated source of soy bean, like miso soup does king hit your inr levels. if you love really strong miso soup like me, it can reduce inr by 5 to 8 points. n.b. i am talking about a big bowl of strong soup every day. occasional and thinner and smaller bowls of miso soup should be no problem.

I love spinich right out of the can and also every way you mentioned.

No reason not to have spinich, brussel sprouts, asparagus, kale, collards, or any of those things.;)

There was a guy that had a great page on AOL about Coumadin and darned if I can find it now. It was like the 3rd choice to point someone too.

When I was pregnant with my son I CRAVED canned spinach. I'd drain it, heat it, put some lemon on and and chow down!!! Just had spinach last night, not canned, but some fresh that I cooked in an Italian sausage soup I made.
