Tub Refinishing?

How about some Bondo on the rusted through spots and then the marine enamel. Got any friends in the car painting business? Maybe they could do something on the cheap using Bondo and enamel. But there would still be fumes that you'd have to consider.

My kids call my husband Bondo Man, because he's used about a ton of it restoring a 69 Mustang. It has a really bad paint thinner type smell. I can always tell when he's used even a little bit of it because it permeates the house.

If your bathroom has a window in it, you could put a fan in the window to pull the air out that way.

I plan to use Bondo later this summer to repair an outside door threshold that has some rot. Replacing the threshold would be a major carpentry job. So I hope this works. I read that it does.

Sounds like that stuff is almost as good as duct tape!

A fix-all product I have come to use quite a bit is epoxy putty. Nearly as hard as steel, can be filed, drilled, tapped, etc., and it stays in place on vertical surfaces unlike liquid epoxy.

Regarding fumes...
I consider them nothing to worry about*. Open windows and a fan do wonders.

* With the exception of gasoline. NEVER use gasoline indoors or close to your home as a solvent unless your place is tremendously over-insured for fire.

Glenn saves old credit cards, and the fake ones they send in the mail to try and get you to apply for them, as smoothers once he's applied the Bondo. Just a little helpful hint.

Ross, put that gun away. I know you read Yaps' thread about the car shooting. I just want to help prevent any impending mental snap. Anyway, holes in the tube may be interesting but you'd have to bathe very quickly.
