Which tests are you talking about? Around here, the bloodwork is good for 30 days. I'm not sure about the cath/MRI/CT, but I'd guess at least 6 months, if not longer. Those are too expensive to redo unless absolutely necessary. Canada probably has its own rules though.

Justin's had surgeries postponed several times. The only pre op testing he needed redone, (for surgery that was well over 1 month later) was the Type and Cross for blood. They just did that the morning of surgery.

when i met my surgeon i had had the cath and TOE and asked to wait till after summer hols for my surgery and he said that nothings gonna change much in that time . i have had my bloods and xray done tuesday this week and surgery is the 6th oct so yours should be ok ,

I first had all of my tests done in December and they wanted me to have surgery in January. I postponed that until April. I had to have everything done again except the MRI and the stress test.

I am going to have to do pre-op again and some re-testing because my surgery date change was just over 4 weeks. I was told the cut off for ECG and blood work is 4 weeks. Darn...

Once again, wishing you all the very best this Friday!!! We will look forward to getting an update. Sending positive thoughts your way...

my surgery date has changed so it will be 4 weeks since my pre ops and i will have another blood test done only, on the day i am admitted which is now the 21 st oct my original pre ops were 22 september my original surgery date was 6th oct

tthompson, Wishing you all the best tomorrow for a successful surgery. I will be thinking about you. Looking forward to reading that you are over the mountain. Please have someone update us if you can. Rest easy.

Nadine

I had all my test in August, and the surgeon said the only test i will need again in two weeks is another echo, chest x-ray, and bloodwork. (Then surgery the next day!)

Bumped again. I got down there yesterday for 6:00 AM and was all prepped and ready to go. No room in the ICCU. The surgeon himself came to see me to break the news, but I'm next on his list now. New date is now Monday at 6:00 AM. Third times a charm.

I was scheduled for may 28th. Made it to the hospital 2 hours away from my home. As soon as I got there a nurse or someone came out and told me the doctor was doing a transplant and that they would have to reschedule me for the next day. We ended up staying the night in cleveleand at the guest house and then later got reimbursed for our stay. At first I was bummed out because I wanted it over with but really it ended up better that way as I got to spend the day with my dad before having surgery. I wasn't upsert because someone else's life hopefully was saved. Enjoy your weekend. And relax it will All be over soon.

That is a bummer...you said it, third time has got to be the charm! I do hope you get a chance to enjoy the weekend. My brother in law had a heart ablation last week and had to be moved to the day unit on Friday at the same facility as you. He was told there were alot of emergencies that day and they needed his bed.

So, I will be well prepared to not expect my date to be engraved in stone, based on your scenario. I hope you are hanging in there.
Is someone going to post on your behalf?

Sorry you got bumped again but I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Best wishes for tomorrow and, if possible, please have someone update us.
