Warfarin's being warfarin

Warfarin's being warfarin

Hi Freddie,

Warfarin has a life of it's own.

The same weekly dose will result in--INR going up, going down or staying the same.
An increase in a weekly dose will result in--INR going up, going down or staying the same
A decrease in a weekly dose will result in--INR going up, going down and/or staying the same.

As long as you're in range, does it really matter?

So I tell myself warfarin's being warfarin and shrug my shoulders.

Antibiotics haven't noticeably affected my INR when needed for a dental appointments.

However, wouldn't be happy with a 2.4 INR--I'd increase my dose.

Just hang in there--things will get better.

Hey---don't worry about it. I have been doing this for 9 years now. My range is the same as yours, but I am more comfortable in the 4.0 level. However, it has dropped into the onesies. Usually due to exercise & hot weather. I live in FL. Just live your life and don't gorge-out on broccoli (ie a stand-in for all the Vit K veggies). Eat right, get good exercise, and don't stress anymore than you have to (right, I know!). Your doctor or coumadin clinic will take care of the rest. Enjoy your new lease on life...it's all good!
