Cort, I Agree With Everyone Else..

Cort, I Agree With Everyone Else..

I say this because I have worked in retail and I know how backstabbing and miserable retail stores are when it comes to being loyal to their employees. Please don't even consider selling your "Baby Girls", as you have to have something pleasurable in your life and if it's something you really enjoy...I have worked in retail most of my working years, and believe me, they think nothing of laying off good and loyal employees without even considering the fact that good workers really do matter. Please know I am routing for you, and even if you do have to take the job in Elgin, you still can look for other opportunities that you would rather have. The Best Of Luck to you and your decisions. Take Care, Harrybaby :D :D :D

My two cents is take the job in Elgin, set to start a week late due to family business, and still go to the interview in TN.

In years gone by, I was very loyal to the companies I worked for. I've learned (very slowly) over the years, that they have no such loyalty for their employees. Being cashiered by Sears/KMart is an illustration of that.

Go for both, and take your pick.

Somewhat cynical, but certainly practical...

Best wishes,

I ditto this advice. Why do you want to move to Nashville or Jackson Tennessee? You would not believe the humidity index here (Nashville 80%+). Most Yankees can't tolerate a summer here at all. :)

Because I absolutely love the area. We (my parents, sis and I) had a family vacation there the summer of '95 or '96 ... can't remember which right now ... and I absolutely fell in love with the area. In fact, I've lived in the Chicagoland area all my life, but have yet to be able to master how to get around in Chicago. Maps don't even help. Yet, put me in Nashville with a map ... and I'm good to go :).

And, thanks, Harry, for your comments :).

Cort............

Cort............

Just caught this thread and wanted to send my good vibes, chants, dances, etc. I know this is a tough decision, but I think the others have given you some good advice. As for me, I manage to screw up my own life pretty good all by myself, so I'm not about to offer you any advice. :D YOu will thank me for this many times over. heehee!

I wish you luck in coming to a decision and please keep us posted. BTW, Don is from El Paso, Illinois, and would go back in a heart beat. As for me, I HATE the cold...................

Anyway, sending hugs. Janet
