This has been a busy, up and down week for me

Shoot, Ross, if you are going to have a new female doctor the least they could do is provide a choice between a brunette or a blond. No such luck!

One comment I have on dentures, I think it's easier to eat less with them. I know the tongue has all the taste buds, but the feel and taste of food is a bit different. I don't have dentures but do have a partial that covers the roof of my mouth and it has really changed the way things feel when I chew. But, from the sound of it, you'll just be happy to be able to chew again. Good luck with them...both the dentures whenever they get ready and the new doctor.

I really like Elena Norch. Lyn and her hit it off like sisters (Hmm maybe I should be afraid?) , but I think Maria Young may have the better education of the two. We'll see how it goes. I've already had my interview with Norch and she's up to speed on anticoagulation, now lets see if Young is too.

At least you have a choice.
In Australia almost none of the medical graduates want to be GPs, they all want to be specialists loads more money.
The GP ranks when existing GP's retire a being filled by doctors from third world countries that have done some type or bridging training.
The federal government is even concerned about the situation and trying to get more local medical graduates to become GP's.

i lose my gp on the 24th of this month to. Although i can stay in the same office i have had to choose another doctor also so i know how you feel. I have had my doctor since 2003 when i got married down here and finally had health insurance and have always been real comfortable with her and now have to get used to someone new. i just hope that she is just as good as the one i had. she always cleared up things that needed to be cleared up and would spend as much time with me as i needed. that is how yesterday i had found out that it was the nurse that didn't communicate well enough about what dose of coumadin i was taking this week. thankfully i will only be 4 mg short by the time i retest and i wouldn't have known that unless i had a doctor's appointment because if i had called to question it the nurse just would have said the same thing.

hang in there and i hope for both of our sakes that the doctor's taking us over as patients are as good as the ones we previously had.

The problem with losing Dr. Humphrey is that he is a BIG GUN in the hospital too. Were talking about someone that went to the administration various times on some issues. Half of the things he ordered for me would never have been approved any other way.

A friend of mine in N. Canton goes to Dr. Humphrey and said she has not seen him in about 3 years. She did not know he is retiring. She is going to ask some of her friends that go to him on a regular basis and see what she can find out and see who they are going to see. Will let you know what I find out.

August 21st is his last day for seeing patients.

I had no idea you are without options. Duke Cameron would probably take your case (he's sort of the St. Jude of the hopeless, I think). But I am sorry that I did not think you were that far along on your surgical odyssy!

Not to be weird (which of course, I am) but you might like this "now for something completely different" story about my ex-husband (the First X, not my Second X who is named Ross). Yesterday at an anniversary party for my son and daughter-in-law, a friend of my son (female--there with her husband) announced that she recognized my X (my son's father) because he had run the San Francisco recycling center when she lived in SF. She made frequest trips to the recycling center because her boyfriend-of-the-time was addicted to low-class (my cleaned-up-word-here) "suggestive" magazines and she carted them out to recycling when the boyfriend was out of the apartment. My X looked at this young woman and said "I have one thing to say--thank you!"
