This is the first time I have posted, however not the first time I have benefitted from your help! I have been diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis now since May of 2000. I have been lurking here for a while learning and I have appreciated all the information that I have picked up on.

Many a night when I as having some difficulties I would pop in here to get some info, courage and inspiration. Thank you for allowing me to borrow some of yours to get me through the night. I can tell there are very brave and caring people here. Somehow your words have always made me feel better.

I have much more to learn about this condition, so I hope you don't mind if I pop in from time to time to continue to share from you!
Linda

Be prepared for visits from the Lord and Lady of the Waiting Room. They'll probably want you to contribute new magazines.:D

Glad you piped up - we're always glad to have new voices.

Hey Linda,
Great to have you join us. As you know from looking in on the site you are not alone. There is so much info here and also people who have been through what you might have to do and knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel is very reassuring. So continue to join in and also join in the chat room today at 5 pm est and on weds at the same time. Hope to see you there. Thanks

Dave

Hi Linda,

On behalf of our waiting room, I would like to welcome you. Francesca has been here the longest. Steve is our recognized semi-permament host. We recently had a real flurry through here when we had a half a dozen decide to have their surgeries the same week! Never mind. The mess is all cleaned up and the good thing is that they all did real well and now we have plenty of vacant chairs.

Hi Linda!

I see Betty has already welcomed you to The Waiting Room. Feel free to visit often and listen or ask questions, as the information freely shared on this site has been the balm that makes our waiting bearable.

I, too, have aortic stenosis. I found out about mine after a routine exam last fall turned up a heart murmur. Evaluation of the murmur led to diagnosis, and so far, the rest is history. I'll need a replacement some time in the next several years, but so far I'm just "watching and waiting."

Please join us -- an empty waiting room makes the new "patients" think the quality of services after the wait is bad and all the customers left. . .

sorry for the duplicate post, as you can probably guess I am not very accomplished at getting the tecnique down for posting, I was trying to respond and it duplicated my post, well maybe a double thanks is okay! anyway thanks to all of your responses!

Hi Linda,
Welcome to this wonderful site. As you already know, there is a lot of knowledge and support here. We are here whenever you need us.
I see that you are from York, PA. I was born and raised in Lancaster, PA. Just a hop, skip and a jump away. Small world. I used to work at LGH, I'm just wondering who your doc (cardio) is. There are some very good docs up there. If not at LGH, in Philadelphia. I live in Virginia now, but when the time came for me to get a second opinion, I went to a doc in Philadelphia who found what all the other docs were missing. He sent me directly to Cleveland Clinic.

Take Care!
Gail

That wasn't your fault! The reply with quote function does not work properly. ;) You did what you should have been able to do, so don't worry about it.

Sending to small talk forum. :)
