Terry,
I don't know if you'll have time to read this before your mother-in-law's replacement, but I would like to express my hope that she will fare well through the surgery, and she will have an uneventful, easy recovery.
I know that this replacement is made more difficult due to her age, but as many posted, it is not uncommon in this day and age.
I will keep you all in my thoughts Monday, and I hope you post an update to keep us informed.
Best Wishes,
Mary

Sending best wishes for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery for your MIL. Dick's Aunt had valve replacement and bypass in her early 80's and survived into her early 90's with a good quality of life- I wish at least the same for you MIL.

Surgery postponed today

Surgery postponed today

:( Well, my MIL Florence was running a low grade fever so the surgery was postponed about 30 minutes before she was due in the OR this morning. She's been admitted to the hospital and they're trying to determine if there is an infection anywhere. Florence was disappointed since she'd done all the prep and was looking forward to getting it over with, but we all appreciate the docs being cautious because we want her to have the smoothest recovery possible. Thanks to all who posted messages to wish her well-- I've relayed them to her and I'll update later on as things develop...

I'm heading in for a nap now since we left this morning at 2:30 AM to drive to the hospital....

Well, I'm glad they caught the fever. Take the time to recoup for another day.

as that old adage goes: better safe than sorry. Keep us posted and tell her we've all been waiting for the update that said she was over the mountain. But we will still be waiting when she does make the trek. Blessins........
