OK Lisa...that's pretty funny!! I guess that 6 is much more mature (comparatively speaking) than 4 which was the last time he had OHS. We'll see how it goes. I guess that I need to lighten up a bit and stop obsessing about it (like that's really possible).

No, as a mother, it is your job to stress out, especially over something as major as heart surgery. Believe me, I've stressed over much more minor things - first day of school, first overnight at a friend's, first dentist appt., driving.... Unfortunately, it's also your job to hide your stress! Just keep smiling and be there to comfort him when needed. Find a place where you can go and scream or cry when necessary, or to just breathe that major sigh of relief. You'll be great.

Wow I'm so sorry to hear about the little guy. I had my 1st surgery at 2 years old. Now at 39 I avoid needles like the plague. My "Phobia" is so bad that when I found out about my last surgery in November 2009, I told my surgeon that if the couldn't figure out a way to keep the sticks to a minnimum I wasn't going to have the surgery. They put in a PIC line. It saved my life. It's one stick and it can last a very long time. I hope that could be an option.
