Well I had the TEE today and a ultra sound of the neck arteries. They just basically told me the ring around my valve was fine, but my valve is really damaged, which I already knew. Slept for like 3 hours from the anesthesia they gave me and my throat is still on fire and I can't get any relief, feels like a sharp rock is stuck in it. I'm sure I will have a surgery date after Tuesday's cardiology visit. Will keep everyone informed. God Bless.

Thank you cp172, if only I could get this throat to stop hurting, I know that's the least of my worries but right now I wish this pain would just go away! Thanks again. Thanks for your prayers. :)

Hope you are feeling better today. Please be sure to let us know your surgery date after Tuesday's appt. Will keep you in my prayers.

Have you told your Cardiologist (or whoever performed your TEE) about your sore throat? If not, you should (IMHO).

Do you have a GastroEnterologist? If so, I recommend asking him about your sore throat as well, or your Primary Care Physician.

I must have been really loopy last night with all the meds and stuff, I forgot I even wrote on the board. I should have called the doctors last night because I was in a lot of pain, tried everything to stop the pain, but thank God my throat feels better today. Thank you all for your concerns. What happened was they used a new gel that you gargle with before the procedure and you swallow it too, with an empty stomach that was not good at all. And it didn't work as well as the spray, so I felt everything they were doing and as a result, horrible throat pain.

I didn't call the doctor because I thought they would just say suck it up and it would be better in the morning. Well it is much, much, much better! If you ever have this procedure done please ask for the numbing spray not the gel. Thanks again everyone! I will update here after cardiology visit Tuesday.
