Did ya get those licence plate numbers ?

Did ya get those licence plate numbers ?

Hi guys - Appreciate all the kind words of support during the last week. What a week. I guess two hours was pretty quick huh ? Just goes to show ya what a type A personality can do if he puts his mind to it. That included replacing the aorta with a St Jude and bypassing the right coronary. All your advice has been helpful so far. I've got my nites and days mixed up, but will try to sleep in a different recliner tonite and see if that helps. So far I'm weak as a kitten, but that will start to improve day by day. That possum dinner would probably help my recovery a bunch Bonnie. We went to a post surgery training meeting yesterday where some idiot was talking about being concerned about quitting smoking once he gets home. Some guys never learn. I can't tell you how much your support has meant to me-we're a heck of a family. Gotta go give some more blood -they didn't get enough last week !!! Chris

Great news and welcome to the other side. Keep up your positive spirit!

Yeah, but. . .

Yeah, Chris, it sure is great to hear from you. You forgot one thing, though -- you didn't designate anyone else to take your place as co-resident nut in the Waiting Room!

Help!

That's great news, Chris! You are officially as they say "over the mountain"...and so fast! This is great news to one still waiting. Take good care.

Still picking up tips

Still picking up tips

Drove from my daughter's house to our farm yesterday, and found myself flinching at the various potholes and bumps. If you have just been though surgery and find yourself doing this, STOP, go back, get a smoother car, or defer the trip. Our trip was about 1 1/2 hours, and I was miserably sore in my arms and shoulders by the time we got home. The good news was, (and this is tip #2) that I got to sleep in MY favorite Lazy Boy. All Lazy Boys are not made the same, so make sure you pick out YOUR Lazy Boy before you have surgery, and it will be there to comfort you through the night. Knowing what I know now, I would have tried to make arrangements with the hospital to move my chair into the hospital room, or maybe even bought them a Lazy Boy. All I need now for complete recovery is one of Bonnie's Possum Pies and a trip to the newstand to pick up some new magazines for all you guys still in the waiting room. Oh, by the way, remember all that anxiety I had about waking up in ICU with the ventilator ?? Well, I have only the faintest memory of the first day in ICU, and there was absolutely no panic at any time. Funny how things go isn't it. Chris

Hi Chris-

I remember all the anxiety you had about the vent and ICU. You're going to be able to help some scared newby BIG TIME when they express their fears.

You've done terrifically well.
