I have one more appointment with the surgeon's office, but I think Jan 30 is the real date. Maybe they'll even let me know the time some day! The scheduling staff has made me wonder if I'm on their "do not call" list, but the nurse practitioner has been very responsive.

I recall there were a couple of nurses in Dr. Speir's office who were very responsive to my questions. Hope you get the info you need in a timely way, Debby. I had to be at the hospital at 6 a.m. for prep, and was rolled into the operating room about 9. Surgery took 5 hours. I doubt the order of the day's surgeries is determined a month in advance. You will get that info a little later on.

Congrats on getting your Jan. 30 date. I am confident you will do well. All best wishes....

I'll put you on the calendar, Debby, and if anything changes, just let us know. Regarding the time of surgery, I didn't know until the day before I checked in. I think they try to gauge the difficulty and time involved, and then plan accordingly. I was scheduled to be the first one in, but was moved to the second spot, and for some reason that was very reassuring (I guess I thought mine was more routine?)

DebbyA,

Good luck. I know you are ready to get the procedure done and move on. Being in the waiting room is tough.Keep us posted.I will add you to my prayers.
