I just came home from mine yesterday and believe me it was difficult walking thru those doors but you'll do it because you have to and you'll make it out.I almost backed out because I had a swollen gum that morning and was worried about infection, they said they thought I burned the roof of my mouth, the fact that the "fellow " who looked at it had all the warmth of a defrosting corpse didn't help.

Went in Wed 25th Feb 7.30 am Down for op 10.30 Came round 4 to 7 pm.
Surgeon said op went well, managed to get a nice big valve in.
36 hours in ITU the up to a room.
Recovery went so well they kicked me out Monday 2nd midday.
It's a hard thing to get through but each day is better than the one before.
Having my wife with me and the fantastic team at the Harley Street Clinic
made it a lot easier.
To anyone about to face this all i can say is:
Have the courage to get you to the door.
Then just yield and let the storm hit you.
Then when you wake up start fighting.

At my worse time walking to the theatre someone's words from this site rang in
my ears.
One step at a time. one breath after the other.

Thanks to you all.
Going to post in post op now as could not look in there before.
Again Thanks.
