Hi all,
some of you have seen me in chat , this is my first time actually posting.
I was born with a heart defect and had my first open heart when I was a baby.
My 2nd open heart was when I was 7 due to scar tissue from the first surgey wrapping around the valve and blocking it.
Well now i had had echos, stress test and halter monitor, ekgs wich led to my cardiologist to discover my pulmonary valve was leaking twice as much as since he last saw me in 2002.
He said its time to get the valve replaced. Also had a issue with arriythma detected but the specialist he sent me took said the surgery will correct that and its due to the leakage.
I am going to have a gortex valve wich is a newer valve option and has had excellant results. its not permant of course so would need to get it replaced in 7 to 10 years or more it depends on the person. By the way I am 33 years old.
My surgery is Dec 12 at All Childrens Hospital in St. Pete,Florida.
They want me in the day before to get a Heart Cath done first.
I was scared at first but thanks to you guys I have talked to in chat and from the great support in the forums I have been reading I am no longer scared and I am now looking forward to the Surgery and to having more energy afterwards.
