Thank You ,
I am ready to go, Heart Cath tommorrow and an On-X on Friday. I really appreciate everyone:D Prayers are very much appreciated:) Still trying to be cool for the family today, I have managed to talk to each of them and let them know how much they are loved and how very proud I am of them. It's harder not to cry than I thought when I talk to them even though I am constantly assuring them and myself all will be fine. I look foward to posting my great experience soon. Jesus has held my hand and carried me many times and yet I find myself calling again and again. He will never leave me nor forsake me.:) :) :)

Bumped!

Bumped!

Hi everyone:
Sorry I haven't been on lately to update you. I was schedualed for surgery March 31, was cancelled and moved to April 4. Travelled 1425 km. to Hamilton and 24 hrs. before surgery was bumped again to April 10. First cancellation was a real let down but really wasn't too upset at the second. I was too busy trying to keep the rest of the family calmed down, they seem to be quite irrate at the system. I feel badly for them and all the disruption to their lives and plans.
The big silver lining in this dark cloud is that I am staying at my daughters in Windsor and enjoying the company of my 2 grandchildren all this week. This has boosted my spirits tremendously!! (insert smily but can't figure out how)
Thanks for your prayers and good wishes.

Put you on the calendar for April 10th and hope that date works for you. In the meantime, enjoy your grandchildren- that's the best medicine for everything!:D

WOW I'm Home

WOW I'm Home

Hi everyone, I am now home with a different valve than intended on using it is the mechanical kind not tissue. The On X was too big. The valve replacement was some kind of carbon I am going to research it when I feel better.

The surgery turned out to be quite exciting... On 30 March, I was admitted to the hospital, to get the Hearth Cath to see if anything else was wrong so they could fix it when doing in. Well the cardiologist at the hospital were different than the ones I use at the beach, long story short rather than looking for other complications that need to be fixed they disagreed with my cardiologist and said the surgery needed to be put off a few years, when my family or myself tried to explain the whole medical history and that the problems were progressive getting worst, that the family, myself my cardiologist and the surgeon had all agreed that this was the time. Well the cardiologist gave me ten minutes to make up my mind, because he had a meeting to go too. That simple statement made up my mind. My other doctors have always had time to discuss the test results and explain the possibilities, and at the beaches office I had three different doctors agree that this was the right thing. I got the surgery the doctors replaced the valve and did a by-pass (total surprise) and about one hour after the surgery I started to bleed uncontrollable and they went back in. I was in ICU until I was released to come home. The hospital and nurses were great so was Dr. Still. Any way I am home with oxygen staples and a heart full of thanks for all the hope and prayer sent my way.

I am so tired I have rest.

God Bless You All
Diane

Diane,
Very happy to hear you are home. We will be praying for your speedy & uncomplicated recovery. God Bless you.

Welcome home Diane! I'm sorry that you had an "exciting story" to tell - we like boring stories here. No one likes the word "exciting" when hearing about heart surgery. But I'm very happy you are doing well.

When you get the chance, could you let us know why they put in a mechanical instead of a tissue? Did you know this before surgery, or was it a surprise afterwards?

Be kind to yourself. Walk, sleep, eat and breath - that's it!
