Hi everyone, I am now home with a different valve than intended on using it is the mechanical kind not tissue. The On X was too big. The valve replacement was some kind of carbon I am going to research it when I feel better.
The surgery turned out to be quite exciting... On 30 March, I was admitted to the hospital, to get the Hearth Cath to see if anything else was wrong so they could fix it when doing in. Well the cardiologist at the hospital were different than the ones I use at the beach, long story short rather than looking for other complications that need to be fixed they disagreed with my cardiologist and said the surgery needed to be put off a few years, when my family or myself tried to explain the whole medical history and that the problems were progressive getting worst, that the family, myself my cardiologist and the surgeon had all agreed that this was the time. Well the cardiologist gave me ten minutes to make up my mind, because he had a meeting to go too. That simple statement made up my mind. My other doctors have always had time to discuss the test results and explain the possibilities, and at the beaches office I had three different doctors agree that this was the right thing. I got the surgery the doctors replaced the valve and did a by-pass (total surprise) and about one hour after the surgery I started to bleed uncontrollable and they went back in. I was in ICU until I was released to come home. The hospital and nurses were great so was Dr. Still. Any way I am home with oxygen staples and a heart full of thanks for all the hope and prayer sent my way.
I am so tired I have rest.
God Bless You All
Diane
