Hi everyone, been gone for awhile but have been back and forth reading posts. I have been waiting on my surgery date for valve replacement surgery and it is now approaching finally after all the doctors agree that it may reverse the pulmonary hypertension by actually replacing the valve. Which I wish they would have done the first time instead of the repair. But I will keep you all informed when I go to surgery, should be really soon now. I have the appointment to see surgeon Friday 31st, then I'm sure surgery. Already did a left and right heart cath so all that needs to be done I guess is pre-blood work. Don't know why, but I have the jitters all over again, don't even want to go through this again, but I know I have to. I will continue to pray for you all and good luck to those going in and coming out of surgery. God Bless.

Blake...... as someone who went through my second OHS (in four years) last February, I so know what you mean that you don't want to go through it again. Of course, you don't but you have no choice. I found when I wrapped my head around the idea how lucky I was that surgery was an option and a surgeon had the ability to save my leaking heart that I could face it easier. What a blessing we have this option.

Please let us know how you are doing.
You can do this........
I truthfully say to you my second surgery was very much easier on me than my first. I ate a half a chicken sandwich for lunch barely 24 hours post op and walked half way down the corridor with my DH and nurse two hours after lunch.

We'll help you through this!

Blake, I hope your second surgery is easier the second time around- just like JKM7's! Let us know when you have the date so we can put you on the calendar and help you through this.

Sorry to hear you have to go through OHS again. Nobody wants to do this more than once but at least you know what to expect this time, so hopefully are better prepared for it. Still it is understandable that you have the jitters about it, which is naturally to be expected. I'm sure you can do this, but were here to support you. Best wishes and good luck.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement, I really needed it. I know I need to be thankful I have a chance to prolong my life its just so hard to wrap my mind around this again, but I will get there thanks to friends like you who've been there. I really appreciate your kindness and support. I will let you know what the surgeon says Friday and if I will have a date scheduled that day for the surgery. God Bless.
