Duffey , do you or anyone else know exactly what valve replacement and repair he had done? BAV ? coach fox I mean? And go Broncos.!
Thanks for the link. Obviously he pushed the limits on getting the valve replacement, but hopefully there's no long term damage to the heart, and they will win Sunday. Go Broncos!

Just saw the interview with Coach Fox and his wife Robin about his heart surgery. They showed a picture of him right after surgery , all hooked up. I am very happy for his timely recovery, but highly sensitive to the fact that it is a big complicated surgery. Seeing someone on the other side, and doing well is very comforting.

Yea, I wonder if it was stenosis or aortic aneurysm or either. Anyway, he is a tough dude.

My "Guess" since he had hoped to wait until the season was over, but passed out, would be stenosis. He may have had an aneurysm also, but if that ruptured he would not have had surgery a day or so later, if he made it to the hospital..He is a very good example of what can happen when people when people put off surgery once the docs recommend it's time., luckily things turned out well.

ps I just found this when looking (searched coach fox stenosis to see what came up http://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...-goes-from-heart-surgery-to-super-bowl-xlviii

"..Not three months have passed since Fox was taken to hospital in Charlotte, having collapsed during a bye-week game of golf with friends. Doctors determined that immediate heart surgery was required. Fox was suffering from aortic stenosis, the narrowing of a crucial valve that pumps blood around the body. "

...“I am 180% better than I was eight months ago,” he insisted this week. “I had a valve that was the size of a pinhead, now it is the size of a 50-cent piece.”
