Sternum Wires

I had my wires removed after my 2nd OHS. They bothered me and I mentioned it to my surgeon on a recheck visit. He casually mentioned he could remove them, and I jumped at the chance. I had to wait 8 mos after surgery, and then I went off warfarin for a few days. I went into outpatient, they took an x-ray to see where they all were. I was out for the procedure. The next few days my sternum was a bit stiff and sore , but it went away and no more bothersome wires.
Now after my 3rd OHS, I am not feeling the wires at all. Amazing! I don't know if I'm still swollen or if the surgeon who did the wires just did a great job!
