The new generic form of Viagra! Noooooooo...

It's actually a band. and if you are checking this post, you most likely have heard of them.

Well, while I was in Germany last week a had a chance to see them. They were playing a concert in Bonn, and it was amazing! They stilll have it and sound just as good as they did in 1972 when they produced the "Can't Buy a Thrill" Album. they had a 12 pice band and Donald Fagen and Michael Becker were fantasic!

It was on outdoor concert, and it was really grand to be standing 80 feet from the stage drinking a German Bier, eating a Brat and listening to some outstanding music. :D It looks like they have already completed their tour this year in the USA, and the rest of the year will be overseas.

Here is the link to the tour site for them incase some of you are Steely fans.

So.. let's hear from some of you... What concerts have you been to this year?

Rob

Steely Dan is one of my favs.....I've seen them several times but many many moons ago.

I rarely go to concerts these days, although my wife dragged me to see Elton John in Hamilton earlier this year (I'm not a fan  Used to like his early early stuff but once he got into the crazy outfits etc, I lost interest). I did "willing" go to the Canadian "Smooth Jazz" awards this year though. Not really a concert, although performers did play between awards.

Hi Bina,

Und Das Bier is Macht Schon!!

Last month I had to fly back to thet states on the day Aerosmith was playing at Koln Arena. I really wanted to see that one, and had a ticket until I had to make a change in flights....

This month in Dusselldorf The Rolling Stones are playing, and that is only about an hour from where I work, so.. hopefully I can get to that one, although it is an expensive one to see, 280 euro! Yikes...

Rob

Hi ,

They played some from their latest Album/CD, but most of the concert was their tunes from the 70's and 80's. Their new stuff.. well.. it was Steely Dan. They are musical geniuses. I have not bought any of their new stuff from the 90's or now.. but I, like you, have all their albums from the 70's and 80's.

Rob, hast du meine Familie gesehen?
My cousins own a light and sound company for bands.
It's called Cobra, based in Germany.

In my younger days I went to dozens of concerts.
Nowadays, my neighbour with the victorian mansion has house concerts, mostly blues.
My fave is Ray Bonneville, he lives here most summer months. Nice guy!

Bina,

Ich sah sie nicht. Ich arbeite nahe koln.

But perhaps I may in the future. I will have to watch out for the name when I go to concerts.

btw... I love the blues.. not a bad neighbor to have, if you get to listen to some good blues.

Justin worked the stones show in atlantic city last fall and we went Aerosmith and ozzfest last year. This year he worked meatloaf, striesand and was called to do the police but just got out of the hospital. He should be able to start doing shows (as a stagehand) again in a month or so. He works the bigger shows in Atlantic city and Philly.
I always loved Steely Dan , never going back to my old schoool Lyn

Lyn, what a dream job:)

Don was a sound tech/roadie from about 75-90when Justin was 2 and having problems he left the road. But when he was on the road he toured w/all the major acts of that time. That's how Justin got his very part time job

Oh, Rob, I'm unbelievably jealous. Steely Dan's always been one of my favorites, plus my high school jazz loving son's as well. Aja and Greatest Hits are always in my CD player in the car. Favorite song of all time is Deacon Blues, ahhhh... You are one lucky guy to have seen them. Hopefully, I'll catch them the next go around.

On a semi-related note, Hubby, I, and some relatives are going to see Peter Frampton at French Lick in October. I hear he's still one heck of a musician himself.
