Opening a new STC week: Hope all are well. We are in the thick of the festive occasions that many of us celebrate. Christmas. Hanukkah. So wishing much happiness there and for us all when we turn the page to a new year --- 2021, 2021 ... not going to have trouble remembering to write 2021 instead of 2020.
So Monday was "V" Day in the States -- V of course for vaccines rolling out to fight COVID-19, and all the media hype surrounding the first vaccinations of health-care folks.
Now will come the big personal decision in weeks or a few months -- to get the shots ourselves or not.
We have the start of a good discussion on the December 8 thread so I invite one and all to continue it here.
As for my family, I likely will be getting vaccinated, but we are less certain about my wife. She has many allergies and some medical conditions that might be exacerbated. We need some sage advice from her doctors about this decision. As for me, allergies have never been a concern, and I likely will have surgery in April or May to correct my post-OHS incisional hernia in the upper abdomen area, and so I think I'd like to have the assurance of this protection against acquiring the coronavirus as a hospital patient. However, I of course will be closely following what's happening with the mass rollouts of vaccinations and any early indications of side-effects.
Won't it be wonderful when all of this pandemic stuff is in our rear-view mirrors? Can we imagine such a time?
Happy Holidays.
Cheers,
Superbob
