Just now starting on this part of the coast, but schools and everything have been cancelled as a precaution and we could have ice developing. I think I am going to postpone my Mended Hearts stint today. Don't want to head to hospital as a volunteer, slip on the ice, and wind up there as a patient.

Smart move ... I fed the birds and hour ago and the food is covered again .... maybe I will fix some pancakes:biggrin2:

We have very little falling right now -- perhaps Superbob should go take a polar bear plunge into the Atlantic. :p Feel like a wimp for cancelling out but have been helping take care of grandkids with the stomach flu so maybe it's best I not be traipsing the hospital halls anyway.

No wimp in Super Hero Land ... just super smarts ... no need to risk life and limb .... make some pop-pop pancakes:thumbup:

We had an inch or two yesterday. Thank goodness the temps didn't drop until after the heaviest rain fell - it was a torrent all morning, but above freezing until noonish.

Today the streets are leftover-wet, with misty snow and ice drizzling down. Ft Worth seems to be fine, but Dallas is a mess! Accidents everywhere on all the high bridges and overpasses. I'm staying home until the day warms up and the bridges all get sanded/salted. No sense in risking my car or my health just to sit in bumper to bumper traffic.

I tried working from home, but keep losing the connection to the office computer. This happens too much. But I can surf the internet from the home computer? go figure.

If your not use to having snow & rain, little own driving in it, stay home. It's not worth the risk.

Course salt, sand or gravel will help if you have to walk to the end of the driveway to get your mail, it will also help your vehicle get traction if you do have to go out.
Keep the candles on stand-by, it doesn't take much of freezing rain to pull down power lines.

Stay Safe

Maybe SB will make and eat a tall stack. Tonight comes Auburn/Oregon, finally. Great day to stay in and carbo-load. :tongue2:

Superbob, please wield your superpowers and flip a big stack over my way. If they fall in my plate, how can I not eat them?

I agree, better safe than sorry. Ice is almost impossible to drive on. Pop Pop pancakes are much safer and there's still time to shed the calories!

We have about 3 inches of snow and they say the ice is on the way ... bracing for power outages :mad2: ... :rolleyes2:

Hopefully school has been called off there. There was a blackout in several nearby counties last Saturday night. It didn't last for more than 5 or 6 hours, but it was so coooold. It wasn't due to snow or ice either, just cold. My sister had to figure out how to use my mother's emergency oxygen supply so that mom could have her oxygen. Power losses can be so dangerous for the sick and frail. Keep safe today; hope you're not having to brave ice in order to make chicken fingers and milkshakes!

Your reasoning is superlative! You eat the pancakes and have Cindy clear the driveway.:biggrin2:
