Myself I take in recordings of birds (its a hobby of mine) and music I like ... apparently studies now confirm what I believed

maybe consider some buds that are low profile enough to leave in while resting. Active Noise Cancellation will be a boon (that wasn't around when I was in last time, I hope I never need to check it now).

I'm stoked on the quality of the Bose buds I use, and friends who have Sony or Apple report similarly. We're spoilt for good choices.
