I've had appetite problems due to emergency susrgery and subsequent readmission to the hospital due to complications.
Hospital food was the pits. A neighbor brought over a meal -- smoked chicken, corn on the cob, cornbread and cantaloupe, strawberries & blueberries. It was great.
I've bought chunky peanut butter & whole grain crackers, apples, applesauce, whipped yogurt, watermelon, cantaloupe, cocoa roast almonds (Emerald brand), lots of iced tea, orange juice and a few other things. I am not eating much at one time, so I tend to need to eat every 3-4 hours.
As with my MVR 10 years ago, casseroles and a blend of flavors are not appetizing right now. My husband brought me a Whataburger Junior meal from our favorite burger chain, and I only ate about half of the burger and fries -- very unusual for me.
While I was in the hospital for 15 days, the nurse techs often asked if my husband & I wanted ice cream in the afternoon. It was just vanille (Blue Bell no sugar added), but it tasted great.
Do you have any Zofran for the nausea?
