That is what I heard on History Channel..watching a Martin Van Buren..story.........so, Miss Ann..after Van Buren died..his home was left to a son, who gambled it away...The man who won it had a daughter....She became the Mother of a very famous man...Who was she?..........Bonnie

Well, ya got me on that one. I could find only the types of places the home became after his death - including a nursing home. However, Van Buren is an ascendant of the Roosevelts, both Teddy and Franklin:

CLAES VAN ROOSEVELT

FAMILY NUMBER I 29 WAS

THE 8TH GRANDFATHER OF

TEDDY AND FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT

PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES.

CLAES VAN ROSENVELT ( FAMILY NUMBER C59 )

HAD A SON NICHOLAS BORN IN 1658

AND A DAUGHTER ANNA MARGRIET BORN ON AUGUST 29 1654

Nicholas has two sons
Anna Margriet ( C44)

Johann ( 1689 )
Jacobus ( 1692 )

Jannette Roosa ( C36 )

Jacobus ( 1724 )
Isaac ( 1726 )

Sarah Hooghtyling ( C32 )

Jacobus ( 1759 )
Isaac ( 1790 )

Philip Van Buren ( C15 )

Cornelius ( 1794 )
James ( 1828 )

Cornelius Van Buren ( C7 )

Theodore ( 1831 )
Franklin Delano

Cornelius M Van Buren ( C3 )

Teddy ( 1858 )

Augustus Hasbrouck Van Buren (C1)

De Witt Van Buren ( C )

Mary Catherine Van Buren (J)

Glenn John Harris II ( M )

Christina, Van Buren came from Holland - go look at the sites and you may find it interesting (just search Martin Van Buren)

Ann,
As a Canadian/American I can relate to those questions. When I was very young I used to work in a hotel in Quebec City, and Americans used to show up with their skis in JULY. Where did you get those questions, they are so funny.

Has anyone seen a similiar list of questions submitted to an I.T. help desk form very, very computer challenged people. Some one sent it to me a long time ago and it is so funny you will cry it will make you laugh so hard. I wish I could find it.........Ross have you seen it?

The man who won Van Buren's house from gambling had a daughter named Jenny..........................who became.......Winston Churchill's Mother..............:) Bonnie

Well, that's neat, Bonnie - I couldn't find that anywhere and you would think they'd put it in the VanBuren biography, wouldn't you? Seems like a bunch of those politicians are all mixed up together, huh? Nothing changes.
