The story on the Saturday 10p ABC7 Chicago News mentioned the substance was powdered sugar, but their online story does not. Thus:

So, if the substance was powdered sugar, what made the 5 people sick? As far as I know, the sicknesses have not been explained.

Either something more dangerous has been disguised and NOT found ... or ... 5 people incurred "unnecessary" medical costs/expenses/bills...wonder what the diagnosis is for each.

My daughter just told me about a law suit in Michigan by a woman who is suing Starburst Fruit Chews because they don't have a warning on their package about the candy being chewy.

Apparently her jaw locked up while chewing them. Idiotic, yet hilarious at the same time.

Sadly, I'm a bit more cynical about this than I should be. I want to believe they were sick ... and something caused it. BUT ... since we haven't heard anything ... well ... it irks me that people like us get a bum rap for using so many medical resources ... and these people (thus far) get away with taking advantage of a situation.....
