Tylenol PM or.. me singing

Tylenol PM or.. me singing

Ross,

I've used Tylenol PM otc with some success. Barring that, gimmie a call and I'll be happy to sing you a lullaby. Used to work wonders with my sons when they were little. Of course, the rocking chair might have helped. Ok, FINE, fly me there and I'll rock you and sing you to sleep.

Just offering my assistance where I can,

Shelia

Hey Ross, sorry to hear about your sleepless night. :( Of course, my message is a day late and a dollar short.. I take ambien as well (10mg.) a night. Some nights I find it doesn't work as well as other nights. Depends if something is really bothering me. What I've been doing lately is reading a good book before bedtime. I just finished a good book by John Grisham.

I think I could probably get by with 5 mg on nights that I read. I should probably try going back to 5mg. (cut the pill in half). Then the 10 mg would probably work better for those hard nights when you just can't doze off.. For me I think I worry to much.. Between the holidays and my daughter getting married and her husband in the Army - god knows I've done my share of sleepness nights..

Ross, I would offer to sing you a lullabye next time - but my daughter cried everytime I sang to her !!! So that wouldn't work..

Here's wishing you sleep like a baby tonight..

I see they pushed 20 in teens during testing, but if I can't achieve what I want at a normal dose, I don't think I should venture into the testing category. Now maybe with Viagra...........

Maybe you wouldn't care if you couldn't sleep??? :p

Hey Ross,
I am with you. I have a hard time going to sleep too! Most of the time it is 2-3 am before I go to bed and. I tried it all and nothing seems to work either! I'll been wathing your post maybe I will learn something.

Why don't we insomniacs just have a party and forget about going to bed???There are nights that I don't go to bed until 7AM because I just can't sleep. I used to sleep great, but for the last year, my body has gone haywire, because I keep getting night jobs, and then when I quit my last job, I haven't been able to sleep because Kevin isn't home, and then I had a stalker, who would call me at 3AM when he was working, finally changed my phone number, but I have the most screwed up sleep schedule. I take Unisom, and it works pretty well, but usually I am wide awake until like 2AM or later when I just crash out. Then I can't make it through the day without a nap. UGH. This stalker waited until Kevin was out of the country to start calling me, thank goodness he doesn't know my new number or my cell phone number! I freak out whenever anybody calls me on it because I don't want the wrong people getting my number! Well, try to get some sleep!

Sex usually does it.

However, failing that......I read every time I hit the bed. A good book is like a sleeping pill to some of us. Works most of the time for me -

I find I am sleeping less and less as I get older. I think it's because I realize I've lived more than half my life (wonderfully I might add) and I don't want to miss anything.
I gave up trying to go to bed expecting to fall asleep if I'm not tired first. I just wait until I am dozing in my chair (whatever time it is) and then I head to bed.
I get more quality sleep and much less frustration from tossing & turning.

My biggest challenge is switching from my "when I have to work" sleep schedule to my "day(s) off" sleep schedule. yes, I know I should maintain the same schedule whether I'm working or not. But tell me, should I really have to get up at 5 am on my day off!!!!!! Then I end up staying up too late on the night before I work (like tonight, but I think I'm going to try a Tylenol PM) and am dragging my hiney all day long at work.
I always "think" I need less sleep, but when I can sleep undisturbed (not having a dog come poke their nose in my face to tell me it's time to get up) I will sleep 8 hours easily. I went to TX over New Years and was embarassed because I slept until almost 10 the first morning I was there. And had fallen asleep the night before watching the Ohio State football game!

I know what you mean. I work 3 days/week (Mon, Wed & Thur) so my sleep schedule can be crazy if I try to keep one. Luckily I don't have to be to work until 9:30 so I pretty much get up the same time every day. I do sometimes "sleep in" until 10 or so on my days off but, again, needing less sleep these days.

Ever thought of acupuncture??

Ever thought of acupuncture??

Hey. Hope you're asleep right now! Since you're spending so much money on drugs that don't work, and you obviously can't be needle shy, why not try some acupuncture?? I honestly think that when all else fails, these trained professionals can truly be a godsend. Sometimes just going to their office can be so charming -- little waterfalls, inscense, stained glass, crystals, etc. etc. Pretty magical stuff that just might trick you into a renewed state of mind. Any others out there think so?? I mean, what have you got to lose?

Which way is your head facing when you lie down? It should be North. Magnetics and all that.

Best wishes for some restful times.
