Here I sit at 4:36 am. I've been up and on the net since 2:54 am. I was a good boy and took 10mg of Ambien to help me sleep and it's NOT EVEN PHASING ME!

If I don't find something to help me get some quality sleep soon, I'm going to be in the mental psycho room soon. I cannot believe this. :(

Not real thrilled with that idea. They had me addicted to it in the hospital. They hooked me up to a 2mg continous I.V. drip of it. It was a long time till I quit shaking uncontrollably and had to be brought down gradually with Klonopin.

Ross,

I took a small dose of lorazepam at 11 last night but I am still up all night on the same bad schedule you have. I do happen to have a backround in pharmacology and I can say despite the physical tolerance a benzo creates the one benzo that would probably help you to sleep is temazepam. It is a bit stronger than xanxa and ativan but it is used specifically for sleep problems. I was on it for 14 years (without increasing the dose) while I was working a schedule I had to get night sleep for. I recently took a month and a half, last year to completely detox myself from it and did it without a glich. (with the exception of a few withdrawal PVCs) I hope you will find a way to get the sleep schedule you want and while I am hoping I may as well enclude me in that too! Ugh

Blessings,
Lisa

All I can do is ask. I'm real unhappy about laying out $52 for this Ambien and it's not any better the active ingredient in Benedryl. What a rip. I'd of been real ticked if I'd gotten the full prescription at $105!

Sheep???

Sheep???

Suppose some Bushmills is out of the question Rossman....It works in Ireland, especially if you count those sheep at the same time........what!!!! no sheep in your area?

Seriously, hope you get some results soon....you're working on 'Irish time' these days.....

Cheers,
Billy

Ross,

I am not sure that temazepam is as expensive a ambien, but temazepam is the generic brand of Restroil. If you have a doc that will prescribe it for you I can help you to keep it regulated to avoid addiction consequences with it. Also, it was my job for years to write up gentle detox schedules for these types of meds so I can help with that too it you need. Most docs that prescribe them do not have a clue as to how to unprescribe them.

No Billy, MadDoc has got a hold of all the sheep in this area. They are petrified of humans now.

Hey........

Hey........

I've heard that old saying....'In days of old, when men were men, and sheep were nervous'.........

....and I really don't believe the rumour that in Wales, a sheep farm is locally referred to as an 'entertainment centre.' ;) ;)

Know what you get if you cross a sheep with a kangaroo?

Hope ewe get some sleep real soon, Cheers,

Billy

Billy he seriously makes sheep very nervous. One strange being!

Probably wouldn't work, but have you tried taking 15 mg of Ambien. That's the largest tablet size they make, I think.

You're right. Could have sworn when I looked it up on Medco before, it was 5, 10, 15. But I just checked again and it's 10. Have you looked up what the maximum safe dose is???

Hi Ross,

Sorry for your dilemna.

A few years back I had a badly broken left arm and many times I
couldn't sleep. Out of desperation and because a copy of Stephen King's short stories was available I began to read.

Well not only did the stories scare the hek out of me I had to close the book frequently and guess what, I'd sleep. Or I'd watch a very boring TV program, same result.

Not your usual can't sleep solutions but they were effective.

Cheers!

Just checked, it says "not to exceed 10"....but I wonder?

To not be able to sleep. Are there any of your other meds that might be causing sleeplessness, that maybe you should take earlier in the day? I know there are some cold medicines especially that if I take after 6 pm, I can just forget about sleeping. Or that maybe are interacting with the Ambien and not letting it do it's job? Just fishing around for ideas, I know how miserable it is to not be able to sleep.

I see they pushed 20 in teens during testing, but if I can't achieve what I want at a normal dose, I don't think I should venture into the testing category. Now maybe with Viagra...........

I do have it Nancy, but seldom ever use it. I need it more during the stuffy summer months then anything.

Ross,

I sometimes use the Unisom original formular otc sleep tablets. For me they work much better than any prescription drug I've tried. Of course, you know I can't recommend you try it without your doctor's permission.
