Hello all...today is six years since I went in for my aortic root replacement, and I am pleased to report that all remains well. I had my annual cardiologist visit last month; everything checked out just fine, and I was even cleared to start doing some weightlifting as part of my new fitness regimen. At this point in time my only reminder of the surgery is the scars, and even then only when someone draws attention to them. Early last month I was in the neighborhood pool teaching my Cub Scout den about swimming and water safety, and one of the boys asked about the scars - it gave me a good opportunity to give them a graphic lesson on heart health. :)

It's been great to see so many familiar names around here...and for those of you who are newly awaiting surgery, have faith; life on the other side can be very good! Take care, everyone.

Congrats on your 6th! Wishing you many more years of great health. I am week behind you and am coming up to my 6th valversary, too! How time flies. Nice to hear from you. :)

hey

and congratulations on smooth running ... may you have many more returns to the anniversary :)

Thank you! The cardiologist said everything looks good, and my older grandmother turned 100 last month (the younger one is 90)...I'm 45, so I'm hoping to come back here for the next 50 years or so. :)
