Bill is a transplanted Yankee so I call him Billy Bob..when was your surgery? And why don't you insist on seeing your Cardiologist..Want me to come down and take matters into my hands?:D :D I can talk him (Card) to death:D Bonnie Lou

By the way..I am so happy for your good 6 month report. I called several weeks before and insisted on an echo. I had 1 and 2 weeks later the Cardiologist said I was doing great and echo was great....Now I don't won't to break United Healthcare. but will put a dent in the million $ coverage...so will wait another year for echo..:) Bonnie

Now, Bonnie Lou you gran thing you!!

You know what a Yankee Attitude is right?? We you are going to be getting some from me. Why should I be demanding to go pay my cardiologist 307 dollars to listen to my heart for 13 seconds and tell me how good it sounds. You know you are welcome to "come on down" off your mountain and join us coast dwellers, infact we could get Ann(henslyee) and go over to McGuire's Irish Pub for a freshly brewed ale, stout or even root beer which is pretty good, too.

We have a great bar b que place here in Gulf Breeze called "Billy Bob's" three guesses what the motif of the place is?? First two won't count.

Why don't you demand another echo?

I see the cost of my echos has gone up about 5 percent in the last month from $1015 to $1065, same old machine same young chick pressing her transducer into my chest to the point of pain.

Thirteen weeks post op, who'od of thunk it.

YOU said I wish I could see my Cardiologist in 6 months....I said I would come down there and make him see you:D :D Surely, your insurance would pay for the visit..hope you are comfortable going a year..As hubby says I'm just a worry-wart:D :D Be careful, you may look out your window one day and see my motorhome..Especially if we get a bad Jan..Feb.. on top of the Mountain..  Bonnie Lou

Not to put too fine a point on the semantics here, but, I said "wish my cardiologist wanted to see me in six months" not that I wanted to see him. I guess, I would feel a little bit nurtured by him if he were watching me more closely. He had perfect judgement about insisting I get the operation so I will trust his word that I don't need to be seen till next year. I won't push myself to see a doctor if there is no need, but like you I am a bit of a worry wart.

BTW, "you've got mail" as AOL would say.

Love ya sis

congrats John.. I too had a low EF (22%) - had a month echo in august and was back up to 58% now the only heart drug i'm on is coreg (beta blocker which helps CHF) I'm 6 mnths last week and hope to be off that by my one year anniversary.. (hoping and praying) - i also take a blood pressure and cholesterol, but that's another story..

again, i'm very happy for you... I can't wait for my next echo.. want to confirm that i'm still in normal range since being weened off the drugs.. i am glad.. my cardio just doesn't dismis me.. i went from once a month to every 2months so far..

major congrats once again!!!

John,
I have just recently returned to this forum and did not hear your story until now.
That is absolutely great and I'm really glad to hear you are doing so well.
