My doctor tells me that only I could pull a stunt like this!!! The sad thing is that he is right!!
I went to close up my classroom and turn in my final grades for the year this past Tuesday. While I was returning my textbooks to the book room, I dropped a book on the floor. Because of this stupid defective valve, I have a chronic cough. When I leaned over to pick the book up off the floor I coughed. This was a very bad thing to do. I got a muscle spasm in my left side and it did not go away. When I got home I could hardly get out of the car. By about 4:30 I was miserable I could not sit or stand or even lay down and get comfortable. I called my favorite doc to see what he had to say and he had me go to the ER. When I got there he had called and asked the ER doc to do an MRI.
Can you believe that onelittle cough could herniate two discs and partially rupture another one? Only I could be that much of a KLUTZ. For now I get to have bed rest, heat and ice to my back and be spaced out on muscle relaxers. I am really glad that school is out. My students would not let me hear the end of this.
