was feeling pretty good in week 7 post op and started to do a little more around the house, tried watering the plants with a garden hose and found myself the next day in the recliner barely able to move, pain in the chest was sharp and back aches all over had to take a few ibuprofens to curb it. Anyone else experiencing these setbacks...My wife thinks I need pysical therepy but the surgeon said the walking I am doing each day is enough.

you should run a search for the thread we did a couple years ago about the stupid things we all did, pushing doing stuff just a little too soon after surgery. We've almost all pulled a little stunt like yours. Hurts, don't it? That's why we say make haste slowly, have patience.

Yep, I remember it well.... you'll be sore and your body is letting you know.

The only thing I can suggest is when you walk lift your arms above your head, grab your hands for about 10 steps, relax the arms for a bit, then as you continue to walk try to push your shoulders down (you have to stop swinging your arms to do this) for about 5 or 6 steps, relax and walk normal. The last little exercise is to hold your arms straight out for about 10 steps. Repeat as needed during your walk.

Not sure about physical therapy, but a good gentle massage does wonders.

Oh yeah, I remember doing stupid things while still recovering. I worked the booster shack for one of the football games at about three months (after being cleared for nearly any activity by the doctor) and pushed myself a bit too far. My wife gave the shack manager hell for that, and I was shifted over to light duty for all the other games.
