Late last night, my nephew's wife called me to tell me that my nephew was going to undergo surgery on Friday for a testicular mass that was found & it is presumed, cancerous.

Needless to say, we are all so distraught & fearful of what's to come. They, my nephew & his wife Annette, lost their only son at age 15 to cancer just 6 years ago after a 2-1/2 yr nightmare. We saw a strong, athletic, vibrant young man wither away to skin & bones before our very eyes, slowing & tortureous. Such a sad, sad time in our lives.

Then, 2 years after their son died, my nephew's father, my eldest brother, got a cancerous brain tumor & within 6 months of his diagnosis, he too passed away, also withering away before our eyes.

Now, it is my dear, beloved nephew.

Please, please pray for him & for the rest of my family to give us strength & some form of comfort for whatever is to come.

Norma, I will definately pray for your nephew. I know exactly what a horrible thing cancer is. I have lost 2 very close and dear friends within the last 12 months to that dreadful disease.

I'm sorry to hear about your nephew and ALL your family has been thru, you certainly have my prayers. IF it is any help, testicular cancer if caught early is very treatable. One of the boys in Justin's Scout troop had it on one side when he was about 15,16 and then a few years later had it in the other side. BUT he is doing great, it's been about 4 years. I'll pray IF it is cancer he has the best outcome possible. What a awful time for your family, it must bring back so many tough memories.

Absolutely! My niece is going through something similar but it is on her thyroid. She is 5 mo. pregnant with their 4th child. I'm waiting to hear from my sister as to date & time of surgery.

I am so sorry to hear this. I do know what it is like to loose someone from cancer. I lost my wonderful mother many years ago to colon cancer.
