Are you on anti-coagulants for your afib? My hubby can't really go to the hospital every time he has been in afib if it is constant. He is on Warfarin, so doesn't that mitigate the stroke risk?
yes I'm on warfarin for an On-X aorta valve. I only keep a chart when I have them to inform the doctor then next time I see him. You should have him call his doctor if you're still concerned.

Well shoot. Hubby thinks his is constant. One of the doctors I messaged me said we should be getting a wearable monitor in the mail in the next couple of days. I don't know why they wouldn't just give it to us at the hospital, but it is what it is. The Kardia Mobile device arrived yesterday, but hubby said he just didn't have the energy to try it out. *sigh* This morning he is sleeping, but I need to go wake him up because his appointment for inr check is in 45 minutes.
He should be wearing the harness right now. You do not wait till get to INR. After he is showered, get that on him to monitor his heart. When it is off, they cannot monitor his heart. Good luck and he got that on yesterday.

He doesn't HAVE a harness. They didn't give him one. The nurse said they mailed the heart monitor, so we are watching the mail....

I did not have any leads or halter for my 3 Holter monitor tests. I just had an adhesive patch about 1.5 inches by 6 inches. The actual device is 1 inch by 4 inches by 0.5 inches thick. It depends on just what the doctor wants to monitor. In my case we were looking for Afib and premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs).

I've used a Boston Scientific "Mini Remote Cardiac Monitor" 3 times. The first 2 times a technician installed it on the center line of my chest in the Electrophysiologist's office. The 3rd time Boston Scientific mailed it to me, and I installed it myself. See https://www.cdx.bostonscientific.com/us/en/patients/cardiac-monitor/bodyguardian-mini.html
I wore the device 24x7, kept it on in the shower, etc. I only noticed the device when I was changing clothes. After my monitor test was complete (7 to 14 days) I mailed the device to Boston Scientific; they read the data from the device, prepared a report, and sent that report to my Electrophysiologist.

Note: I carefully cleaned my chest to insure good adhesion of the device. If the adhesive had come loose, I would have had to replace the adhesive backing.

This is probably the type of thing we are waiting for in the mail....
