Indeed! I make a big salad daily and a couple of years ago bought a manual push lever vegetable chopper. The blades are razor sharp and I cut myself good three times before I got it hard wired in my thick skull to use more caution. I have turned several friends and family onto the device, but always caution them about it- I call it the three cut law- seems that everyone gets 3 good cuts before they learn. Fortunately, I went through my 3 cuts before I was on warfarin, otherwise..........well, you know what the good doctor would say would happen to me!
interestingly I feel that's a theme that runs wider than the Doctors ... indeed its so pervasive that even newbies here asking about it seem to refuse to believe all of the forum participants who are on it saying its easy to manage when you know how, and not really an issue.

I used some of that styptic powder we bought for the dogs' nails to stuff into a cut I managed to inflict on my left forearm a little over a month ago. It stung a bit but it worked great
The ones I buy actually look like a book of matches. A bit more sterile since you don't reuse the tip of the pencil over and over again and risk infection from whatever might be living on the end of that thing.
