in brief i know that increased PVCs in individuals with heart disease mean this person is at risk of ventricular fibrillation ! am i a candidate or since i had surgery i am not a person with heart disease anymore????
MY HEART RATE AFTER STOPPING BETA BLOCKERS IS 105 AT REST I GET EPISODES OF pvcS ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM ANXIOUS OF 5 TO 10 PERHAPS 15 AN HOUR (THOSE I CAN FEEL)
ARE THERE OTHERS HAPPENING THAT I CANT FELLAND WILL I HAVE VENTRICULAR FIBRILLATION ????
sORRY FOR BOTHERING AND THANKS FOR THE HELP

How long ago was your surgery? I would think that a heart rate of 105 might not be all that abnormal when recovering from surgery; otherwise, maybe you should consider getting some more regular exercise (assuming you don't get a lot already). I wouldn't sweat the PVCs too much; they are considered normal and I was told by my cardiologist that many perfectly healthy people get them and don't even know it. They seem to be influenced by stress as much as anything else. The beta blockers do lower your heart rate and may help with PVCs, so that your issues with stopping them make sense. Did you stop all at once? It can be a problem if you don't taper off gradually.

I see where you had your repair 3 months ago, so the 105 heart rate is just a little higher than what mine was at 3 months out. I see where you posted on another thread that the rate increases to 170-180 when exercising. I also had that trouble, so I wore a heart monitor when I exercised to let me know when the rate was increasing too much. As Clay said, I wouldn't worry too much about the pvc's. I would concentrate on trying to reduce your heart rate. Why did you go off the beta blocker? I did too, but it was because I suffered various side effects that were worse than the high heart rate.

i was having reduced blood pressure and feeling very weak and dizzy so the doctor took me off all at once but i was taking the 250 mg Concor .( i think i could reduce it to 125 gradually) anyway its been a month since i have stopped beta blocker and it was after a echo test that he said so so i think he saw i was fit to stop
my problem is that since i stopped beta blockers my PVCs increased gradually (now i can feel about 5 to 10 an hour)
Can i go back to a lower does of beta blocker or should i leave my heart to regulate itself alone ?????

and so i did take an appointment its the 12 of march thanks for the help i guess ill be trying to reduce anxiety from now until that day and then see what happens anyone who can give me any further assistance and advice ill be here to take it...

Do you work with anybody on anxiety, like a coach or therapist? Even a short-term course of eight weeks or so can be really helpful to learn some techniques that will empower you to cope with as best you can. Or here is a book I found helpful - You can be Happy No Matter What - Five Principles for Keeping Life in Perspective by Richard Carlson. Ain't nothing wrong with an anxiety pill either as long as it's ok with your cardio, in fact my cardiologist was my first prescriber (for depression in my case). I always say anybody with a chronic medical issue needs superstar mental health skills so it's good to work on these. Work with your doc on the physiological side and a book or wise therapist on your thinking and you will get relief. Hang in there!!!!!
