Propranolol

I take a beta blocker (propranolol) usually everyday 2× a day at 9:40am and pm I didn't hear my alarm today and got up 2hrs late and still took the med.....is it safe to keep taking it at 9:40? Or should I take it at 12?

As with most medication, 'take it as soon as you remember' and resume your regular time.

I'd agree with Freddie, except that if you forget it for so long that you are more than half way to the next dose, you will have to skip one dose to avoid over-dosing. With most meds, they will build up a "maintenance" level in your system, so you will have some protection even if you miss a single dose.

I am also on a beta blocker twice a day and miss a dose about once in a week. When I do, my heart rate does go up slightly before the next dose, for the half lift is only a few hours, but I would not be too concern about it, either take it a few hours late, or wait for the next dose.
