You're absolutely right.
Up until now, I have been struggling with health insurance and was on Medi-Cal for a while ( which never really worked ) . SInce I started out with this Cardio, he had to keep treating me, otherwise I would have switched a long time ago.
I get really sensitive as soon as I walk into the doctors office. All I have to hear is "Your blood pressure is 90/40 and a huge lump in my throat will form. My Doc is famous for saying things like "Oh man, wow look at that enlargement over three months!! How old are you!?? Oh MAN!" and then calling in his coleage to talk all about how crazy it is in terms I cant understand. I always freak out!
One thing I've discovered is bring along my boyfriend or somebody else is essential.!!
Anyway, I'm changing the subject of the forum. Woops!!
I should be setting up an appointment for Oct. With a good doc.
WOO HOOO
:)

Your cardiologist sounds like a real *******. Ditch him quick. It reminds me of my family doctor who once said the following, while walking to his car, after I told him I was scheduled for surgery, "That's scary!" I could have punched him!. You are entitled to access to your file, and I would suggest paying the $15 or whatever to get copies of your results (last few years) to give to your next Cardiologist so he has something to compare with. Go in person and fill out the necessary forms along with your check. (at least this is how it works in Canada). Do not take NO for an answer. It's so easy to get intimidated by doctors. You are certainly not alone. Let us know how it goes.
